BLT & IATDMCT – a good match

From Sep 21-24, IATDMCT held its annual conference in Singapore. Many BLT members attended this meeting, presenting their work, chairing sessions, etc.

BLT provided financial support to no less than 3 of its members to attend this meeting:
Hanna De Baets (UGent) had 2 oral presentations, “VAMS to measure steroids in congenital adrenal hyperplasia patients” and “Capillary dried blood spot sampling for tacrolimus and creatinine monitoring at home”, and chaired a ‘walking poster session’.
Nick Verougstraete (UZGent) had an oral presentation on “Toxicological investigations of suspected spiking cases in Ghent, Belgium”.
Cathérine Van herteryck (UGent) presented 2 posters, on “Towards more standardized measurement of free valproic acid concentrations in clinical routine”, and “Towards implementation of measured unbound flucloxacillin concentrations in routine patient care”.

Kevin Vandenboucke (UGent) was the recipient of the award for best oral presentation by a young scientist. Topic of his presentation: “Does microsampling enhance preanalytical stability of uracil in dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD) phenotyping?”

And, lastly, BLT Board Member Christophe Stove (UGent) was officially appointed as the new President of IATDMCT for the period 2025-2027.
